Outdoor Education

Join our hands-on, experiential program for early education learners (ages 3–5) and homeschool students (ages 3–15). Our interactive approach fulfills California standards by introducing age-specific content and developing research skills. Over each 8-week semester, students explore scientific topics via recording observations, evaluating problems, and developing solutions. Classes are grouped by age; winter, spring, and fall sessions offered.

Outdoor Education: Session 2

November 13 – January 22 (8 weeks) ages 3 – 15
NO CLASSES:  November 27 (fall break) and December 25 & January 1 (winter break)

Fridays, 9 AM – noon with an optional afternoon practicum from 12:30 – 2:00 PM (lunch from noon – 12:30 PM for practicum participants)

Session 2 theme: California Explorers: Join us to learn about California's native plants, native animals, geology, and the current and future conservation practices being implemented to protect and preserve them.

$245/second student
$225/each additional student

Optional practicum: $175/student (all materials included).

Session 2 practicum theme: Channel Islands Challenge - Themed around a story of survival across the Santa Barbara Channel Islands, students will work in small groups and use critical thinking skills to solve a STEAM problem each week. 

Practicum is best suited for students ages 6+
